Personality:
Excited, Loud, Warm, Loyal, & Friendly
Making friends is one of the easiest things for Jaskier. He's managed to get grumpy people who'd rather be left alone care about him more than they care about themselves. He truly does love making friends, but he feels like he has more enemies with how much his mouth gets him into trouble. Once you're Jaskier's friend he makes sure you feel important and cared for. Nobody will be left behind on his watch, especially a friend he cares for. He'll do anything even if it puts him in danger. He makes songs for his friends, keeps them safe (even if he gets them into trouble), makes them a simple meal, gives them the last of his coin. He sees these as simple things despite them being very important gestures to whoever is receiving them.
He'd be the best friend to have. Jaskier is loyal to anyone who respect him. He'll take foul attitudes or nasty words thrown at him as long as he's allowed to spit back, but he does have his breaking point where he is done with being loyal. He'll leave and grovel in his sadness, and maybe (probably) even write a sad song about whatever relationship he just lost. If someone who broke his trust does come back to him to try and regain it, he'd be a little salty about it, but Jaskier will want to try and get the relationship back. He misses people too hard for his heart to handle.
He never truly thinks things through before doing. It's bad on his part and typically means he needs saved whenever he gets his self into trouble. He gets jumpy, loud, and expressive with his words, face, and hand gestures whenever something amazing it'll get him excited. Even if it's explaining a fantastic plan to sneak a body guard in as a sad and mute silk trader. He’s confident in himself, but things tend to backfire on him.
Flirty & Vain & Irresponsible
With having such a warm and friendly personality comes flirtation, and it’s safe to say Jaskier is a massive flirt. With being a flirt comes trouble from the Lords, Ladies, and other nobility. He certainly can’t help but lavish the Ladies and women with attention when they fawn over him, and he certainly can’t help flirting with the Lords either. His amorous ways (both with words and bedding those who’ve been charmed) unfortunately lead him to trouble on both sides, causing Geralt to save him multiple times from death. You’d think he’d learn his lesson from being such a player, but nothing is new for him!
Of course, to be a good flirt, one must also be good-looking, and Jaskier is adamant on keeping up with appearances. One could call him vain, but he knows he’s a triple threat - he can sing, dance, and use his looks to his advantage. To see him in an unkempt state would be truly blasphemous; what if someone other than his party mates sees him? It would be a mockery to his job as a Bard if he didn’t take care of himself, and so his dramatics & pickiness regarding his appearance are sound in his eyes.
Gifted & Ambitious
Music is an incredibly important facet of his life, and Jaskier would certainly say his best friend is his lute, as sad as that sounds. School wasn’t kind to him, despite being nobility, and he never wanted to use his status to get ahead of the game; no, he wanted to prove himself and work hard! He fought his way through the system, learning the skills necessary to hone and perfect his skills, and now, he’s able to showcase his talents with the world. His work paid off, for his songs as well-recognized among taverns and kingdoms.
Singing was something that came naturally to him; his ability to hold tones, hit the right pitches, project his voice, and evoke emotions to those who heard it wasn’t something that had to be taught in his schooling days. His school, unfortunately, was strict with technicalities and structure, disliking his abilities and wanting to correct him. Of course he took advice from his time in education at the time, but now? Jaskier doesn’t need them - he’s done just fine! He’ll just do what he’s always seen as best for him: sing and hope for the best.
Although playing the lute and singing was an easy task, there was an area he struggled in: songwriting. He knew that in order to become a famous Bard, he’d have to write his own songs, but poetry just didn’t come as naturally as singing! This is where his school came in, pushing and beating and forcing poetry down his throat until he could regurgitate it to their standards. He truly worked hard to grasp the concept, and now, he’s ran with it and used it to pursue his dream of being the most famous bard across the continent. He likes to think he’s achieved his long-time dream, with the experience of creating his own ballets and songs, but a Bard’s work is never done. He’ll continue on his quest to become the greatest in the world, have his legacy carry on even after he’s gone!

The dull throb in Jaskier’s head is all he could focus on as he was waking up. It didn’t take long for all the pain to flood in at once and hit him like a brick. Everything hurt, there was sand in his mouth, and he was drenched down to his underclothing. Jaskier’s mind was foggy with what had happened. It was like something was forcing him to forget how he ended up on this beach.
“That’s the last time I go drinking.” Jaskier was finding the strength to force himself up on his arms. His whole body was screaming out in pain as he pushed himself up onto his arms. He had to move quickly or he was going to end up with more sand in his mouth. Gods he could feel sand in places he didn’t even know existed on his body. His arms shook as he forced himself to sit up. He finally managed to get himself onto his butt, water feeling like it just squished more sand into cracks he didn’t want to talk about. A groan came from him as he pushed his hair away from his face, wet and sticking to his skin.
He was able to take in his surroundings finally. Obviously, the beach and the ridiculous sand was a given, but the lights from the nearby town were unexpected. As his mind was trying to wrap around how a city could be so bright, a strange smell hit his nose. It smelt repulsive. Almost like something was rotting….It wasn’t him was it? He quickly pulled his doublet open. Gods, there were spots of blood where he was cut, but the wounds looked fresh, nothing that could be rotting. “I really need to stop drinking if this is what’s going to happen.”
Leaving his doublet open, he forced himself onto his feet. Maybe he could air dry it with it open, but he doubted it. He would never be dry and free from sand for the rest of his days. As much as he didn’t want to investigate anything, he didn’t have a witcher around anymore to help. Not that he needed a witcher mind you! He was strong enough by himself. Jaskier started walking towards the lights of the town, but of course he tripped over a small sand dune and landed face first into the sand. He laid there for a minute before raising his head up, spitting the sand from his mouth. "That's it, I'm in hell. There's nothing more miserable than this. I rather be back on that bloody mountain." He got himself back up, not even bothering wiping the sand off of his clothes this time. Okay so watch out for dunes.... "All I need now is all the Lords to come chasing after me, then it'll be hell."
With his boots squishing with every step he took, Jaskier managed to leave the beach and headed towards civilization.
